The Strangest Egg is dead: 1937-2005 Posted by Hello

  • Gonzo journalisim's founding father will be missed. Hell's Angels, Fear &Loathing on the Campaign Trail '74, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, all had a huge impact on the way I looked at the world for awhile. Especially the later. Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas is a phenom of a reading experience and captures the essence of Hunter.
The movie it spawned, Where The Buffalo Roam starring Bill Murray as HST, has always been one of my favorite obscure movies from the '80s. It falls short of the book but still catches a fun glimpse of what to expect and gives one a sense of Hunter's party excess.
The tooth pulling scene in Hell's Angles still evokes shuffling in one's seat when read.
He'll be missed, but he sure made his mark.
